Up All Night

When Norah was a newborn, she missed her mama so much at night (ha) that she woke up every hour on the hour to eat. So for several weeks it was, feed for 30 minutes, sleep for 30 minutes. So delightful. At six weeks we moved Norah up to her own room because she was bugging us so much  slept so much better there and we were both finally getting a decent night's sleep. Clayton, on the other hand, loves his mama so much he lets me get my beauty sleep. A typical night for him is nursing sometime around 10:30 pm, again at 1 am and then again at 8 am. His 1 am feeding is short at sweet, maybe 10 minutes and then it's back to dreamland for the both of us. Because it's so easy, because HE'S so easy, he's still sleeping in a pack-and-play in our bathroom.

But of course, there's still Norah.

My once amazingly sleep trained daughter has decided that instead of sleeping the typical 12-hour-night she'd been doing for about 18 months, she wants to get up at 4 am. And scream. Not a "I'm so scared because of my scary dream" scream, but a "Hey you guys pay attention to me I'm stuck in my crib and want to get out RIGHT NOW!" scream. So delightful. The first night Jason went up to see what was the matter, she demanded a cookie and a drink. And last night? Last night she had decided she'd had enough sleep and was ready to go to Grandma's house. Because Grandma is so much cooler than us.

This is a funny post. It's like reading my journal entries from when I had Madi! I hope Norah gets back to her routine soon.

HAHAHA! Only because I am a Mom too and not going through something like that right now. One day I hope you will laugh at this too. I have lately learned to laugh at many things like this when they happen. Drives Steve CRAZY! It's so NOT funny he says. I hope she learns that she's missing her sleep soon for everyone's sakes.
