Having a holiday smack dab in the middle of the week sure was a nice break from our regularly scheduled lives, but boy oh boy did it throw me for a loop. You see, being a stuck-at-home mom of a newborn and a busy body toddler, I tend to look forward to small and simple things ... such as watching Next Food Network Star on Sunday evenings and The Bachelorette on Monday evenings. So when Jason had work off on Wednesday and we spent the whole day together as a family enjoying the holiday festivities, it felt a lot like a Saturday. So, naturally I have been anticipating watching my shows more than usual, and it's driving me nuts. But other than the strange time warp feeling brought on by the holiday, we had a fantastic day. We ate yummy food with my family, swam, and attended an amazing party thrown by my parent's neighbor. No really, this isn't your run-of-the-mill neighborhood party. It was catered by Pizzeria 712 and J-Dawgs and featured a plethora of carnival-like activities as well as a sweets table complete with festively-colored candy and caramel apples from Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory. In short, we had a blast :)
Norah loved going down the giant slide with her aunt Car Car
She also enjoyed jumping around in the bounce house
When asked what animal she wanted the clown to make her out of balloons, she got down on all fours and said, "RAR! Lion!"
