Daddy's girl

Our little miss is still in the womb and already a daddy's girl. She's fairly active as it is, but whenever Jason comes around she goes crazy, pulling moves I'm pretty sure would win her a gold in the freestyle fetus dancing Olympics.

I'm in my six month of pregnancy (crazy, right?) and I'm starting to panic because we've done virtually nothing to prepare for her impending arrival. While I see other bloggers looking forward to summer time and posting about the cute swimsuits they'll be wearing, I'm having panic attacks over the fact that the cute accessory I'll be sporting this summer is an infant. And this infant needs stuff, right? Stuff that I don't have. Because as much as I'm sure she'll love the bazillions of books I've purchased for her, she'll probably need more to survive. So help dear blogger friends, what baby items do you loved?

I love my baby sling. I got it off target.com (balboa baby). My baby always wants to be held and this allows her to be held handsfree and I can get stuff done. Plus she loves it. She always falls asleep in like two minutes. So I always put her in there when she is fussy. And....I can tAke her palces without using her travel system which I love. I also love using cloth diapers for burp cloths. I have a baby swing and bouncer in one that I got from babies r us that is a lifesaver. Boppy is another lifesaver.

Swing and bouncy seat (that vibrates). they saved my life in the first few months. And a sling/carrier.

BOB Revolution Jogging stroller. a must. Boppy Pillow. So many things. But the stroller is the greatest.

I didn't even know that you were pregnant! Congratulations! I couldn't live without my Miracle Blanket. It literally saved my sanity. My only other suggestion is to go and get the book Baby Bargains. It'll really help you figure out what you want to get as far as baby gear. (car seats, cribs, high chairs etc)

I have no opinions on baby stuff since I'm in the same boat as you, but I do want to add my two cents. I had a similar panic attack at 6 mo. and was suddenly scrambling to figure out everything I needed! Well let me tell you that the next 3 months go REALLY slow, so don't stress yourself out too much about getting everything ready now. You still have PLENTY of time to prepare and get all the things you need. Plus, you'll get so much stuff for baby showers that you really only need to decide on the big things (crib, carseat, stroller). Hope that relieves a little panic...seriously, I've been there.

Good luck!

I agree with the swing! It's a lifesaver! Especially on the nights that they don't feel like sleeping! I've also loved my exersaucer! When they get to the age that they want to be entertained you can put them in that so that you can still get things done!

So my top picks were a bassinet, the first four months I toted my baby everywhere I went.... next to my bed at night, need to fold laundry?-bring the bassinet so I could bask in how cute my little girl was while she slept... I know a little obsessive :) I loved my video moniter, my McLaren stroller-fully reclining and nice and narrow for shopping (a must), Pampers diapers, Lansinoh, bouncer, little hand covers so they can't scratch there perfect baby face, Trumpettes socks...OK there is A Lot of stuff to get a new baby! Happy shopping :) We are sooooo excited to meet her!

I agree with Merrick. Don't panic quite yet. You will get loads of stuff from showers and what not. I think my favorite thing was the Hooter Hider but I'm pretty sure you'll get that from a shower. I would stock up on white onesies in 0-3 mon. & 3-6 mon. sizes. I can never have enough of those. And get pacifiers. But like I said, you'll get a lot of stuff from showers and other gifts. Good luck and let me know if you need anything!

G's 3 years old so a lot of the really cool stuff didn't come out until after he was too old for it. But the things I DID love were my sling (I had a hotsling and it was a LIFESAVER!) and my Hooter Hider. Robeez shoes are the best things ever (but they don't fit super tiny feet) Trumpette socks are to die for and fit tiny little feet. I say keep it simple though, or you'll find yourself forgetting everything!

You don't need as much as you think you do, I promise! Plus a lot of the stuff you will buy they won't even be able to use for months. I know it may sound crazy, but just get basics like onesies and blankies. I would just wait on other things until you know you want/need them. But I don't think I would have listened to my own advice when I was preggo, because you are so excited to get stuff, but you will learn for yourself I'm sure. Good Luck!

Gripe water and mylicon for baby's gassy tummy. I couldn't live without my boppy. Lily couldn't sleep without her "swaddle me" blanket. And There's no way I could've nursed without a fantastic breast pump. (I love the Medela Pump n' Style. I've also heard the Medela Symphony is great. And I also agree on the swing or bouncey/vibrating chair. Those are lifesavers! Especially when you need a shower and somewhere to put baby.

I am still in the same boat as you, but I am really excited about using all the new fun stuff we have received. The one thing I am really excited about is the miracle blanket. We will see if it works though! Don't worry, I am 9 months and still not prepared! I am waiting on showers though to see what we get and what we don't! I still have a few lined up!!

Boppy, if you have trouble nursing invest in a Medela Pump n Style... SO worth the $$. We got spoiled with a video monitor, it's awesome. Vibrating chair, Baby bjorn or sling of preference (I bought my bjorn at a second hand kids store).

Kyle didn't take to a pacifier, nor a swing. Luckily we were just borrowing the swing from someone. I would recommend seeing if you can do that with bigger items before you go out and buy them. Every kid is different!

When he was a little older I swore by the Rainforest jumperoo. So much so that my mom bought it for when I came to town.

Things I've gone without: changing table, diaper genie, wipe warmer, glider.

Also, if you are having a baby shower then I would try to hold off unless you see things on sale. Our panic decreased a ton after the shower!
