My mom and I have been bit by the sewing bug, and my latest project is one of the Bohemian Bags found here. The designer, Lila Tueller, was in my home ward and is one of the most talented women in the world. Seriously. And she's also very generous. She's doing a fantastic giveaway on her blog and I recommend you all enter, the prizes are fabulous. Click here for a chance to win!
And as soon as I finish my bag I'll post pictures. It's looking amazing
(p.s. I'm at girls camp right now, I wrote this blog Saturday night. I'm loving this blogger feature of scheduling posts.)

The Elder Family Lodge
I've been dying to post this for you all to see, but I had to wait until I gave it to my dad before I let you all see it. I started making this for him, really, for his birthday (April 21). Then it took forever and I started shooting for Father's Day (June 15). Then, I had computer problems ... but be ye not dismayed! I was able to finish it in time for July 21. Which really isn't a holiday but who needs a holiday to show their dad how much they love them!!
This is an 80-page book I painstakingly created from pictures I've taken over the years at my family's cabin that we've lovingly dubbed The Elder Family Lodge. My dad loves this place, and we love spending time with him there. Click on the book preview to see the first couple pages.

Only a few days late ...
... OK so it's more like 12 days. But whatever. Better late than never, right? Right? Well, here are the pictures from our Fourth of July festivities. Specifically, the Stadium of Fire. We were fortunate enough to have a family friend who got us amazing tickets, and we didn't even have to stand in line!

My newest niece, Saide Pearl Evans
My beautiful sister-in-law Emily gave birth to a perfect baby girl on Sunday just before 4 a.m. Here are a few pictures, isn't she adorable?!
How cute is Emily? I can only hope to be half as cute as her when I'm about to have a baby.

Who am I?
You Are Belle!
Which Disney Princess Are You?
Intelligent and kind. Your beauty goes much further than your apperance. Also, you make judgements of people based on their personality and not their looks. Attaining all the knowledge that you can is one of your major goals in life, but you are also a person who can make things happen.
Which Disney Princess Are You?
Take the quiz and let me know!

Scoutin'
Last night Jason and I helped our Weblos build a catapult. These boys were so excited to use power tools and build something! In fact, scouts went an hour over because they didn't want to leave until they'd finished building and played with it. They even told Jason he's the best scout leader they've ever had.
Also, check out my mom's sweet blog post about me.
And coming up next, pictures from our 4th of July bash and ... my new computer!

The truths and the lie
1. I've never broken a bone. True. I've suffered many cheer-related injuries, but no broken bones.
2. I've visited more than 8 different countries. True, 12 countries to be exact.
3. When Jason and I were dating, I had my mission papers turned in. False. They were filled out and ready to go (I'd even done the scary medical stuff with the shots and the blood drawn) when Jason and I started dating.Good guesses everyone! I think most people got it right, I'm so proud.

Fourth of July treats
Tomorrow my family is having a nice little get together involving sun, snacks and swimming and I'm contributing these little delights to our shmorgishborg.
Mini Cheesecake Tarts
2 8oz packages cream cheese (you can use 1/3 less fat)
2 eggs
3/4 C sugar
2 T fresh lemon juice
1 t vanilla
canned pie filling (Blueberry, Strawberry or Raspberry)
Nilla Wafers
Foil cupcake liners. (You'll want to use foil ones because they separate from the cheesecakes better, and they look prettier :)
Preheat oven to 375. Soften cream cheese if needed. With an electric mixer, beat cream cheese and sugar. Then add in the lemon juice, vanilla, and eggs. Beat until combined.
Fill a muffin pan with cupcake liners and place one vanilla wafer at the bottom of each one. Fill each one 3/4 full of batter. Bake for 15-20 minutes.
But you don't want them to get brown. When you take them out, place them on a cooling rack and let them cool completely. While they cool, they will sink down in the center. Don't worry- that's normal! It makes the perfect little well to fill up with the fruit filling. Before you top them, chill in the fridge for several hours, overnight if you can. Then top and serve. You certainly could be creative and top with other things too, like chocolate, caramel, lemon curd, whatever! Makes 12 tarts.
