On growing

Thank you thank you for all the excitement over our big announcement. It's hard to believe that on June 30th (or some time around) we will be a sleep-deprived but blissfully happy family of three.

This past year has been a huge year of growing up for Jason and me. In July, after trying for quite some time, we bought a beautiful home.

On October 21st, again after trying for quite some time, we found out we were going to be parents.

On December 9th, we received further confirmation that there is indeed a little baby Evans on his/her way

And today I experienced the result of the literal growth that comes with pregnancy. As I attempted to get dressed for church, I realized sadly that none of my skirts fit and most of my dresses have ties around the waist that are very uncomfortable. Yes, this made us late to church and no, there is no picture to document this growth.

Be Our Guest!

Look! More house pictures! See, I'm not such a bad blogger after all. This is our guest room. Not the best pictures, but you get the idea right? We've already had two guests at Hotel Jessie, my sisters Carlie and Rylie. Who's next?!

Home sweet home!

I've been wanting to post pictures forever, but in the move the cord that allows me to upload pictures from my point-and-shoot camera was misplaced. I found it yesterday and decided to post some pictures I had taken of my new house. When I uploaded them, I realized they were all of my kitchen. Can you tell which room I love best? Don't tell the others, they might get jealous.

Before the big unpacking extravaganza of 2009:

And after!

I promise to take more pictures and post them soon. Now that I have the cord, I have no more excuses :)

Our house

So you want pictures of the house? I've already posted these here, but I realize no one checks that so I figured I should post some here.

These are not pictures we've taken, just ones we snagged of the MLS listing. We've been busy packing boxes and running them to the new house. I'm also busy with weddings and other photo shoots as well as dealing with the other details of moving. Such as setting up the gas, water and power in our names. As well as setting up a home phone and Internet. Oh yeah, I totally have a home phone number now. As soon as we get settled and decorated, I'll post even better pictures.

Homeowners!

Yesterday, Jason and I signed lots and lots of documents. Today, our realtor is going to give us a key. And Jason and I will officially be the owners of 8906 AND 8908 Cottage Canyon Drive. No, we did not buy two homes, but rather one very confused home. You see, when the development was originally laid out, our home landed on plot No. 8906 and it was later ammended by the county to be 8908. Except no one told the city. So, according to Utah County, Jason and I just purchased home No. 8908. But according to Cedar Hills (and the postal service and the number on the house) we purchased 8906. Yeah, I don't really get it either...

And, one of my most favorite people ever is getting married, and she let me take some bridal pictures of her, and now they're on my blog!

That is so not cool

Yesterday was the home inspection on our potential house. It went mostly well, until we were informed that the house (though advertised with one) was missing an air conditioning unit. As in, there is NO air conditioning in the house. And, the furnace is broken. Really? No heating OR cooling? No way am I living in a house like that. So, we sent an addendum to the bank saying that if they don't fix the furnace and install and AC unit, we're not buying the house. They have five days to respond, and you can bet I'll be on pins and needles waiting for their response.

Also, new photoshoot on the blog.

The house update

For those who have asked, we did not move this past weekend. You see, there was at typographical error on the selling agent's part of the contract. This three letter error has cause quite a bit of drama and delayed the closing date to an unknown date in the future. I'm OK with this because the longer it takes to close, the more time I have with my calling in Young Women. In fact, I'd be OK if the paperwork was delayed through June because then I could go to girls camp.

And because a post without pictures is like a day without sun (or something cheesy like that), here's a picture:

Fox Hollow Way

It seems there is a light at the end of the tunnel. Jason and I have been looking at houses for about a year now. We've made a couple offers, including the offer we made on this house this past May. The offer was accepted in October, but the bank selling the house (IndyMac) had trouble on their end sending over the required paperwork. So after 4 months of waiting, we moved on ... and this is what we found. It's a charming house in the Winter Haven subdivision of Traverse Mountain in Lehi. If things go according to planned, we close a week from Friday.

A big beautiful kitchen with no appliances to buy - very rare and very much appreciated. It also has a walk-in pantry, woot!

This is the cute front room. See those shelves on the left?? I'm trying to convince Jason that they need these:

Beautifully bound classics designed by Coralie Bickford-Smith. But the financially wise man I married says he wants to go into closing with as much money in our bank account as possible. I know he's right, so Universe, please let them still be available after next Friday!!

And you are all just going to have to wait for more pictures, my flash died.

The house

Jason and I went up to the house in Cedar Hills to take a couple measurements (fridge, etc) and while we were there I snapped a couple pictures of the interior, but not the exterior because it was dark outside.

This is the master bedroom showing the step-down sitting room/area.

This is the other view of the master bedroom. That door on the right leads into the bathroom.

This is my cute husband measuring the breakfast nook area. Down the hall behind him is a half bath and a laundry room.

This is the kitchen. The door leads into the front room.

The family room. Pretty self explanitory.

And no, we haven't really heard anything new, but that's OK because the longer they take the more money we can save for a down payment/decorating. I already have a new paint color picked out! I'm excited.
