We hadn't heard about Jason being diagnosed with diabetes so it was a surprise to read this post. Is type one diabetes hereditary or was it just a rarity that it popped up twice in the same family?Debbiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13236478240810334630noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8297689401673830434.post-77681208925737753652009-05-21T17:12:44.234-06:002009-05-21T17:12:44.234-06:00We sure love you and enjoyed spending time with yo...We sure love you and enjoyed spending time with you this past week-end. She was awesome so I have no doubt you guys will be any different.

It is tough to get some unexpected medical information, like with my heart this last semester. But at least you know it's manageable and you can still live a great and regular life.

PS: Sorry if any of those comments violated the guidelines in your post, I didn't mean to!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8297689401673830434.post-24252968483476327922009-05-21T16:55:21.951-06:002009-05-21T16:55:21.951-06:00Perfect thing to post. We'll have to get together and do a diabetes walk this year - and now that there are 2 diabetics in the family we can have a huge group and raise a lot of money for type 1 diabetes research. Woo hoo!Matthew and Janahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05376102523119670491noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8297689401673830434.post-14445798057854327682009-05-21T14:39:37.966-06:002009-05-21T14:39:37.966-06:00My son was diagnosed at 22 months with Type 1. But it's great that you'll be learning together. We just got an insulin pump for our son and we love it and highly recommend it. You'll become an expert at counting carbs. But just take it one day and a time and don't beat yourself up if his sugars aren't "perfect". Keep us posted. You can comment on my blog if you have any questions. There are great resources these days for Diabetics and those who love them. Oh, and #3 on your list is SO TRUE. I just smile and then I want to punch them in the face. But I don't. :-)Our Familyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16579985030951965718noreply@blogger.com
