Last week Jason and I attended my 5-year high school reunion. Although the turn out wasn't great, it was fun to catch up with my former classmates and see how everyone had changed. Most everyone who was married had at least one kid, and some even had three!

Then last night we went to Jason's mission reunion. His mission president, President Gavarret, was called to the Quorum of the Seventies and we were able to hear about his experience being called and his feelings of gratitude for the wonderful missionaries in the Paraguay Asuncion mission who helped prepare him for his current calling.

Two truths and a lie

I was tagged by my friend Brittany.
These are the rules
1. Tell three things about yourself
2. One of the things has to be a lie, the other two need to be true
3. People have to guess which is the lie
1. I've never broken a bone.
2. I've visited more than 8 different countries.
3. When Jason and I were dating, I had my mission papers turned in. And I tag Cathy, Jessi and Annie

We like to party!

Pool party, that is. I have to be honest, being unemployed hasn't been half bad.

I've spent a lot of time (aka almost every day) poolside with these great people ... the crew that comes by changes, but there's always a fun crowd to hang out with.

I've spent time swimming with this cute gal ...

And this cute gal.

And when it's Saturday, sometimes Jason joins me for some fun in the sun.

Day in SLC

Two weekends ago, Jason's parents came into town for a wedding, and we were able to spend some time with them in Salt Lake. It was a great day, and we had so much fun talking and laughing with them at The Roof in the Joseph Smith Memorial Building (amazing restaurant!) Jason and I forgot our camera, so I snagged these pictures off my in-law's blog.

I have the best in-laws ever! I am so grateful to have married into such a wonderful family.

10 loves ... Father's Day Edition

I have the best dad in the world, I'm convinced. Today at my parents house my mom had us go around and say what we were most grateful for in regards to my dad ... and I have to admit, it was hard. There are too many wonderful things about my dad to narrow it down to just one, but here are 10 things I love about my dad.

1. I love that at age 15 my dad read The Book of Mormon and knew that it was true and that he had the courage to join The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and kept the commandments so that I was able to enjoy the blessing of being born into the church.
2. I love that my dad is such a hard worker and has provided well for my family. I also love how his example of hard work has rubbed off on his children.
3. I love how comfortable my dad always makes people feel. He doesn't consider himself a social person, but he's fantastic in social situations.
4. I love how my dad is still so in love with my wonderful mother after so many years.
5. I love that my dad is always wanting the best for his kids and recognizes the fine line between helping us and enabling us.
6. I love sitting and talking with my dad. He is so smart and witty.
7. I love knowing that I can go to my dad with any and every problem and he'll help me find the most suitable solution without making me feel stupid.
8. I love how wonderful and welcoming my dad has been to Jason.
9. I love when my dad calls me princess.
10. I love knowing my kids will have such a wonderful grandfather.

And a bonus 11th love ...

I love knowing that Jason will be just as wonderful to our children as my dad has been to his.

Spring City, Utah

Readers, meet Spring City. Spring City, meet my blog readers! Spring City is one of the most adorable little historic towns situated between Manti and Fairview in San Pete County, Utah. Jason and I took a stroll around town while we were in the area over Memorial Weekend. Here are a few of the quaint things we enjoyed.

People in Spring City have cute houses.

And unique front doors.

They also have smatterings of color on their houses, and beautiful mature trees.

White picket fences are a common site.

Stormy skies only make the houses look even more like a painting.

Oh, and people in Spring City also have horses. Charming eh?

Yay! Finally pictures from our wonderful time in Disneyland. We only carted the camera around on the one day we were there with my in-laws and cute nieces ... because let's face it, my nieces are the cutest of us all and really the only ones worth taking pictures of, right?

We had such a nice time in California. The weather was perfect, a little on the cool side, but sunny enough that Jason and I both came home with farmers tans. We were able to stay in the nice Newport Marriott Condos and enjoy visiting with Jason's parents, grandparents, sister Stacey and Aunt Susan. We had so much fun!

Cami and Carter

My cousin Cami is in town for our other cousin Hyrum's wedding. She asked me to take a few pictures of her and her son Carter for her husband for Father's Day, what a cute idea! Here's one, but head on over to my photography blog for more.

My husband is the best

Since we were going to Disneyland (and since we're down to just Jason's paycheck) we decided to not get each other anything for our anniversary except a card. Well instead of a card, Jason wrote me the sweetest poem ... on the back of our car rental confirmation print out. It was so spontaneous and romantic, I loved it.

He read it to me as we were eating dinner at The Blue Bayou (ya know, the fancy little restaurant that you pass on the Pirates of the Caribbean) and as soon as he finished, he looked at me and said "You're welcome to blog this if you'd like." He knows me too well.

From the first time I saw you,
it was love at first sight.
The office flirt, from Sunday school,
up the canyon, out all night.
I tried to wait for our first kiss,
but we both know I couldn't resist.
Your beautiful eyes, a smile to match,
let's just say you're quite the catch.
A years' gone by, thought it feels like three.
Another forty, still married we'll be.
With a handful of kids, maybe grandbabies too
wrinkles and all, I'll always love you.

Also, this is the one and only picture we have of us on our anniversary. In case you can't tell, this is me more than doubling Jason's score on the Buzz Lightyear ride at Disneyland.

Dennis and Amanda

I finally got around to posting the pictures from the amazing Dennis and Amanda's sealing in Manti. Head on over to my photography blog to check them out! While Jason and I were down there taking pictures, we decided to celebrate our anniversary a little early so we stayed at the Manti House Inn bed and breakfast ... more pictures of our Memorial Weekend coming soon! And then Disneyland pictures! And how swell is this? Having no job leaves plenty of time for blogging.

Happy Anniversary to US!

Jason and I are spending our one-year anniversary in, where else? Disneyland! In honor of this happy occasion, I'm posting pictures that our amazing videographer Doug with Pointe Digital sent us. We were so pleased with the shots he captured on our video and he was kind enough to capture some stills from that and sent them to me just the other day. Isn't he amazing? Shameless plug: If you're looking for a videographer for a wedding or any other event, Pointe Digital is the way to go!
